STRUCTURE ANALYSIS OF CITATAH'S NATURAL CALCITE USING REITVELD METHOD

Abstract
Analytical data XRD has been carried out in the room temperature with refinement parameter Rietveld method on Citatah's natural calcite (CaCO3). We refined 25 parameters, which are scale factor (1), background parameters (6), zero point displacement (1), peak shape parameters U,V,W (3), FWHM coefficient (3), atomic position (9) and site occupancy (2). We obtained RBragg = 7.88 %. Experimental result shows that the crystalline structure was hexagonal with lattice parameter a = b = 4.9891 , c = 17.0424 , a = b = 90o and g = 120o and space group: R3c. The function of FWHM (H) = (0.82194 tan2q - 0.5416 tan q + 0.14375).
