Abstract
The growth of Pb-substituted Bi-2212 single crystal employing the traveling solvent floating zone method is described. The single-phase crystal with single grain size of millimeter was produced from this process. The slightly-oxygen overdoped sample has Tc = 82 K. The second magnetization peak effect extracted from the M-H data is shown to be strongly temperature-dependent, which is uncommon for the Pb-free Bi-2212 sample. The onset field Hon(T) of the second peak effect is found to be well described by a model relating this effect with the phase transition from the flux line lattice to the vortex glass phases in the vortex solid state diagram. The degrees of anisotropy (gamma2) and disorder (D) estimated from the second peak field (Hsp) data of this sample are 1568 and 0.43 respectively.
