PERKEMBANGAN E-LEARNING DI SINGAPURA: SEBUAH PEMBELAJARAN BAGI INDONESIA

One of the challenges in the diffusion of knowledge is the quality of learning. Many methods and innovations that have developed in improving the quality of learning, namely by updating the teaching materials are more easily understood and learned. Learning through electronic media such as internet/extranet, satellite broadcast, audio/video, interactive television, compact disc, and computer-based training to be a choice. In the development activities of this kind is known as electronic learning (e-learning). Many countries have been successful in developing e-learning, also gain economy benefit from the IT content or software business. Singapore is one sample of succesfull country in the advances implement. This paper reviews the raid development in the field of e-learning in Singapore to reveal the picture of e-learning market, policies and portraits of e-learning application in education in Singapore. So that can be used as references and examples of successful e-learning lessons for Indonesia. Singapore's success in developing and implementing e-learning, due to the commitment of government and industry players to develop this sector. Commitment was followed by memberian incentives for application development and fulfillment of basic infrastructure, and awareness with the users especially in the education sector to take advantage of these learning applications. This information will be used as lessons for Indonesia in the development and implementation of e-learning.
