EFFECT OF PROTON-NEUTRON PAIRING ON THE BETA DECAY HALF-LIFE OF 40ZR98

Calculation of beta- decay half-life of the neutron-rich``nucleus 40Zr98 has been ``performed using the full-matrix self-consistent HFB+pnQRPA method. To ``optimize the accuracy, the strength parameter g' ``of the effective p--h spin-isospin ``exchange force sigma1 sigma2 tau1 ``tau2, which is not obtainable self-consistently``from the energy-density functional, has been re-parametrized to reproduce the``experimental half-life of the ``single pure GT transition in 40Zr98. The optimum``value of g' obtained is slightly larger than the conventional value ``g' = 0.7.
